This workshop serves as an introduction to the Fundamentals of Teaching Yoga during pregnancy.
We will cover all the basic changes the expectant mother’s body goes through and how to adapt your class to accommodate those changes safely.
The workshop will also include the most common complications and ailments and how to work around it.
If you wish to develop the skills to teach with confidence a pregnant yogi that unexpectedly walks into your class or signs up for classes, then this workshop is for you!
The workshop also serves as a precursor for the upcoming Pre – and postnatal yoga teacher training commencing on Monday the 27th September

About your host, Rulene
Rulene has a background in science and obtained her Honours Degree in Applied Maths and Science from the University of Pretoria in 2005.
While studying she found yoga and was instantly hooked. She worked in her field for a few years before completing her first yoga teacher training course in 2012. She’s been teaching yoga since 2012 and while pregnant with both her sons.
Rulene has done additional training which include her Advanced Hatha training (500 hours), Transformational Yoga, Aerial yoga (100 hours), Life coaching, Yin yoga (100 hours) and pregnancy yoga.
In 2020 she studied yoga for fertility, women’s health and completed an additional pre- and postnatal teacher training at Yoga Vidya Dam in India. 2020 was also the year in which she qualified as a Yoga Therapist and received her Diploma.
Because of her background in science, Rulene’s approach is both pragmatic and logical and she bring her wealth knowledge and personal experience into her workshops and teacher training programmes.
With over 2000 hours of training and a decade of teaching yoga, she has an in depth understanding and honours the innate wisdom of the body-mind to heal itself.
