Yes, Ma Akash is the main facilitator. You will also have lectures / classes with Theresa Moodie (Anatomy), Benita Kolloori (Ayurveda), Rulene Moolman (Pre and Post natal yoga) and Kirsty Parrington (Anatomy).
This is done in the first three months after you are qualified to teach – however you can start to complete the 10 classes as soon as you feel ready to teach. Two classes will be taught to your fellow classmates and will be assessed by Ma Akash, Chris or Reshika- senior teachers at the centre. These two classes are in addition to the 10 you will be teaching friends, family, etc.
For serious health conditions or injuries please contact Ma Akash to discuss if we can accommodate you. If you have Epilepsy, back pain, arthritis, etc you can still participate in the 300 level Hatha training.
The study material is given at the opening ceremony as well as access to the Google Drive that has additional resources. For online students the material is sent via Postnet.
The maximum group size is 14 students per course.
These are additional courses you can take once you have completed your 300 level certification. So you have the option to continue your studies if you wish to do so.
Aerial Yoga ® is not a requirement for the Hatha yoga training, but you are most welcome to try out a class at the studio if you wish to do so.
The course is registered with Yoga Alliance International (based in India) and you will have the option to register with them at a discounted rate of 200 Euros once you have your certificate from Shakti Yoga Centre.
There are YAI ambassadors and Directors in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, etc that would be able to assist you.
Hatha is the basis of all other styles of physical yoga- so yes you can easily adapt it into a flowing sequence once you understand the principles and different groups of asanas.
The assignments cover the coursework in your manual and textbook, they are written and you will also write tests on each section (back bends, forward bends, etc). You are given all the tests and assignments in your manual along with the mark allocations. We will go through each one before it is due to be handed in and you can ask any questions if needed.
