500 level Hatha TTC graduates

Join Ma Akash, director of Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre and Yoga Alliance International Africa, for a 7-Month Comprehensive Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training Program. This program is designed to develop world-class teaching skills and qualify participants as internationally recognized 500-level Advanced Yoga Teachers.

Explore the roots of the ancient Indian Hatha Yoga tradition, a beautiful path of self-mastery. Deepen your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of yoga with our in-depth seven-month, 500-hour Mastery in Hatha Yoga program.

Develop your personal practice, including asanas, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, and meditation, while gaining the ability to teach multiple styles and levels.

Duration: Seven Months (15 February – 30 August 2025)

  • Classes: Tuesdays 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM and Saturdays, 10:30 AM–1:30/2:00 PM
  • Two Sundays, 10:30 AM–1:00 PM
  • Residential Master Cleansing Weekend: October 17–19, 2025, at Sima Kade Bush Retreat in Magaliesburg (Attendance is compulsory).

Investment:

  • R20,500, which includes the residential cleansing weekend, textbook, comprehensive manual, and lectures. Payment can be made in monthly installments over the 7-month period.
  • Early Bird Discount: 5% off if full payment is made by January 25, 2025.
  • Extended payment terms (up to 10 months) are available for a small monthly administration fee of R50.

For Returning Shakti Students:

  • R19,500 for those who have completed the 100-hour Yin, 300-hour Hatha, or 300-hour Therapy Training with Shakti Yoga (payable in 7–10 monthly installments).

Deposit:

  • A non-refundable deposit of R5,000 secures your spot.
  • A contract will be signed, committing participants to complete full payment even if they decide to leave the course after the start date.

What’s Included:

  • Comprehensive 500-level training manual
  • TTC classes and guest lectures (Vedanta, Ayurveda, Functional Anatomy)
  • Required reading materials
  • Residential cleansing weekend (October 17–19, 2025, in Magaliesburg)
  • 500-level TTC certificate accredited by Yoga Alliance International

What’s Not Included:

  • CPR Training: R400 for a 2-year certificate
  • Fees for registration with Yoga Alliance International, Yoga Teacher’s Fellowships, or other accrediting bodies
  • Self-study and personal yoga practice (minimum 1 hour/day) to teach from personal experience

Who Can Join?

This 500-hour program is open to:

  • Graduates of Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre
  • Those who have completed a Yoga Alliance International-certified 200-hour Level 1 Teacher Training
  • Applicants with at least 3 years of consistent yoga practice and 1 year of teaching experience

Curriculum & Schedule

The course combines practical training, advanced teaching methods, and self-enquiry:

Key Modules:

  • Advanced Hatha Yoga Asanas and Pranayama (based on Hatha Yoga Pradipika)
  • Principles of Vinyasa, Yin, and Transformational Yoga styles
  • Teaching methods for adapting various styles to meet students’ needs
  • Advanced Cleansing Techniques: Shatkarmas such as Neti, Nouli, and Tratak (optional)
  • Subtle Anatomy: Chakras and prana bodies
  • Functional anatomy, injury prevention, and management
  • Introduction to Vedanta and yoga philosophy from the Upanishads

Specialised Skills:

  • Mantra practices for balancing physical, emotional, mental, and psychic bodies
  • Designing personalized yoga nidra and therapeutic classes
  • Creating transformational workshops and sacred classroom spaces
  • Teaching private yoga classes with tailored adaptations

Accreditation and Standards

This program meets all criteria for international yoga standards and is accredited by Yoga Alliance International (YAI). The SYC Level 3 certification (500 hours) combines training from both the 200-hour and 300-hour programs for a cumulative 500-hour designation.

YAI accreditation ensures participants meet international standards set by bodies like Yoga Alliance Africa® and the International Yoga Federation (IYF).
